    To stay healthy in the winter season, it is very important to maintain heat in the body. Consuming these things will give warmth to your body and protect you from cold as well as other cold diseases. Know what are these things:

    Jaggery – A decoction of jaggery is given in case of cold and cough in winter, because it gives warmth to the body. If you keep consuming jaggery daily, you will not have to face the side effects of cold.

    Turmeric – It is also used as a medicine to avoid cold. Use turmeric as much as possible and maintain heat in the body. It will also act as an antibiotic.

    Garlic – Garlic is an excellent antibiotic as well as a medicine used in cold and flu. Garlic chutney, vegetable can be made in cold days. Apart from this, you can eat it raw or fried with bread.

    Fenugreek – Laddus made from fenugreek seeds are consumed especially in cold. It is helpful in maintaining heat in the body. Consuming more and more green vegetable of fenugreek will be beneficial in these days.

    Dry fruits – Consuming dry fruits will also prove to be very helpful in preventing cold. If you mix them with jaggery and ghee and make laddoos and eat them, then they will become even more healthy.

    Honey – Consuming honey is always beneficial, it will be especially beneficial in cold days. Consuming it with lukewarm water is also helpful in reducing weight and also in bringing agility.

    Black pepper – Include black pepper in your diet these days. If desired, include it in soups, salads and sprouts or instead of red chilies.

    Ginger – Consumption of ginger in this season is excellent for bringing heat to the body as well as for increasing immunity. Include it in lentils, vegetables, soups etc. or with chutney.

    Garam Masala – A little garam masala in the food will not only enhance the taste but will also give heat to the body in the cold, which is very important in this season.

    To keep the body warm in winter, it is most important to practice yogic activities and pranayama regularly. Suryabhedi and Bhasrika pranayama are especially helpful in increasing body heat in all yoga asanas and pranayama including Suryanamaskar. With regular yoga practice, you can avoid the troubles of winter.
